God's greatest blessings
I remember reading an article in the Ensign, church magazine about paying tithing. A family was paying an honest tithe but the father was out of steady work for many years. At times they would wonder if the promise in this scriptures was true: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse,” commanded the Lord, “…
and prove me now herewith, … if I will not open you the windows of
heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough
to receive it” (Mal. 3:10).
As time went by they were greatly humbled and they learned that Gods greatest blessings are not in the form of money and worldly possessions.
I think about this often. Money doesn't make us happy. God has so many wonderful blessings that are far better and much more fulfilling. As a wife and mother I am learning more and more about these wonderful blessings.
The temple! We are sealed as a family, we will be together forever! Also we love to feel of the great peace that we can feel in the temple, and we feel the love that our Heavenly Father really does have for us. David and I have come to learn that as we attend the temple regularly our children will be blessed and Satin will have less power over them. I am so glad to know that we can have this as a protection for our children as they grow old and are pressured and exposed to things that would damage their spirit. When we were choosing where to accept a job we thought a lot about how important it is to be close to a temple so that we can go often. We will be in Greeley and in a few years we will be able to enjoy the Fort Collins Temple close by.
My husband, David supports me in all that I do, he is proud of me and he trusts me. He loves me so much, and this means a lot to me. He is doing a lot for our family, and he is giving 100% He loves to have a spiritual home and he consistently leads us in family prayer, scripture study, and family home evening. He teaches our boys great things and he loves them so much. He plays with them a lot and misses them when he is at school. I found a wonderful man and I am so lucky to have him.
Children- Giving birth is a huge miracle that blows my mind, but what is amazing me even more these days is that the baby grows and learns and becomes there own little person and their own unique personality. Asher is understanding so much about life, he is asking so many questions. He loves the simple things in life, and he is so happy to be himself. Bridger is learning to talk right now. Its fun to hear him pick up on a new word. His new word this week was basketball. Today he picked up on the world circle, and said that a couple of times. He really knows what he wants and he wont stop until he gets it.
These are some of the blessings that have been poured out on me recently, and I know that there are many other great blessings the Lord has for me in learning more and gaining a stronger testimony of gospel truths.
